Despite the fact that diabetes is a commonly recognized disease, it's still one of the most misunderstood. Many people still assume that having diabetes simply means you can't eat sugar. The truth is, not only can those with diabetes have sugar in moderation, there are many other things that they need to be attentive to. When my husband was diagnosed with diabetes, I was at a loss for how to help him. I met with a dietitian, did a lot of research on my own, and we spent a lot of time in the midst of trial and error. I created this site to help demystify diabetes management and the risks involved with neglecting it. I hope it helps you if you or a family member has recently been diagnosed.
